The AAPA SEAPORTS Series consists of:
1) SEAPORTS OF THE AMERICAS - THE AAPA DIRECTORY - the authoritative
and comprehensive reference guide to the seaports, port authorities
and port industry of the Americas...and the official annual
publication of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA).
It is used on a daily basis throughout the industry for its detailed
port profiles, port staff contacts, port industry statistics, port
rankings, and other industry-related content, including AAPA's
official PORT INDUSTRY SERVICES DIRECTORY, with listings of the most
important port services and equipment companies serving the port
industry. The book is distributed both in print and online.
2) AAPA SEAPORTS MAGAZINE - the AAPA's editorial feature publication covering the port industry's current events and issues of the day. It is also distributed in print and online.
4000 copies of the annual SEAPORTS OF THE AMERICAS DIRECTORY and 4000 copies of each of the three yearly issues of AAPA SEAPORTS Magazine are printed and distributed as
follows:
- AAPA MEMBERSHIP DISTRIBUTION:
CORPORATE MEMBERS (Port Authorities): Approximately 1300 copies are mailed directly to the AAPA Corporate (port authority) membership, which consists of virtually every port authority of economic significance throughout the western hemisphere. AAPA Corporate Members in the U.S. & Canada receive from 4 to 20 copies each, per port size, mailed directly to each Port Director for distribution to port staff; AAPA Corporate Members in Latin America and the Caribbean receive 4 copies each, mailed directly to each Port Director for distribution to port staff;
SUSTAINING MEMBERS (port industry companies): Each is mailed at least one copy, with over 400 copies mailed directly to these members, consisting of virtually every major port industry equipment manufacturer and port-related services provider in the western hemisphere;
ADVERTISERS (members & non-members): Advertisers receive at least 2 copies each and may receive more per request. Approximately 300 copies were mailed directly to advertisers last year.
- INDUSTRY PROMOTIONAL DISTRIBUTION: Approximately 1000 copies are promotionally distributed each year to qualified recipients at various trade shows, conferences and industry events, including JOC BREAKBULK CONFERENCE, TRANS-PACIFIC MARITIME CONFERENCE, TOC EUROPE, TOC AMERICAS, TOC ASIA, THE AAPA ANNUAL CONVENTION & PORT INDUSTRY EXHBITION, IAPH WORLD PORTS CONFERENCE, INTERMODAL SOUTH AMERICA, AAPA SECURITY SEMINAR, NATIONAL CARGO SECURITY COUNCIL, JOC CHINA TRADE & LOGISTICS CONFERENCE, GEORGIA FOREIGN TRADE CONFERENCE, PANYNJ INDUSTRY DAY, IANA INTERMODAL and the U.S. MARITIME SECURITY EXPO in New York City... and several others.
- DIRECT MAIL PROMOTIONAL DISTRIBUTION: 500 copies are directly mailed to a highly targeted list of port, maritime and key industry recipients, consisting of major port authorities around the world, major shipping and cruise line executives, and other port-related services companies who may be prospective AAPA members and/or advertisers.
- LEGISLATIVE: Approximately 300 copies are directly distributed by AAPA to legislators and other governmental/port industry interests in the US, Canada, Latin America & Caribbean.
- ONLINE SALES: The print version of the publication may be purchased by interested parties via www.aapa-ports.org & www.seaportsoftheamericas.com websites at $129.00/copy, which includes a one-year subscription to the tri-annual AAPA SEAPORTS Magazine, the editorial outreach publication of AAPA.
- ONLINE VERSION: A complete, online version is freely available at www.seaportsoftheamericas.com, which dramatically expands the reach and distribution of the publication throughout the world. All ads are included in the online version, exactly as in the print version, and are linked directly to advertiser's website. It is also a featured link on AAPA's website at www.aapa-ports.org.
